科學(xué)技術(shù)普及（簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)科普）是國家和社會(huì )普及科學(xué)技術(shù)知識、弘揚科學(xué)精神、傳播科學(xué)思想、倡導科學(xué)方法的活動(dòng)，是實(shí)現創(chuàng )新發(fā)展的重要基礎性工作。黨的十八大以來(lái)，我國科普事業(yè)蓬勃發(fā)展，公民科學(xué)素質(zhì)快速提高，同時(shí)還存在對科普工作重要性認識不到位、落實(shí)科學(xué)普及與科技創(chuàng )新同等重要的制度安排尚不完善、高質(zhì)量科普產(chǎn)品和服務(wù)供給不足、網(wǎng)絡(luò )偽科普流傳等問(wèn)題。

《關(guān)于新時(shí)代進(jìn)一步加強科學(xué)技術(shù)普及工作的意見(jiàn)》的印發(fā)，標志著(zhù)新時(shí)代推進(jìn)科普工作的系統布局已經(jīng)形成?！兑庖?jiàn)》提出，面對新時(shí)代新要求，為進(jìn)一步加強科普工作，應堅持把科學(xué)普及放在與科技創(chuàng )新同等重要的位置，強化全社會(huì )科普責任，提升科普能力和全民科學(xué)素質(zhì)，構建社會(huì )化協(xié)同、數字化傳播、規范化建設、國際化合作的新時(shí)代科普生態(tài)，為實(shí)現高水平科技自立自強、建設世界科技強國奠定堅實(shí)基礎?！兑庖?jiàn)》強調，要從以下幾個(gè)方面加強科普能力建設：強化基層科普服務(wù)；完善科普基礎設施布局；加強科普作品創(chuàng )作；提升科普活動(dòng)效益；壯大科普人才隊伍；推動(dòng)科普產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展；加強科普交流合作。
