省略的翻譯技巧

英譯漢過(guò)程中,譯文要符合漢語(yǔ)的表達習慣
在漢語(yǔ)中代詞和連接詞用的不多,因此有時(shí)候我們就將這些詞在翻譯過(guò)程中省去,以下我將給大家分類(lèi)舉例說(shuō)明具體的翻譯省略技巧
1) 連接詞的省略
有時(shí),and 和 or 沒(méi)有必要翻譯出來(lái)
Most Americans have great vigor and enthusiasm.
大多數美國人精力充沛,熱情高漲
They have courage and do not give in easily.
他們有勇氣,不輕易屈服
Foreigners sometimes complain, however , that they have little interest in or knowledge of the outside world.
然而,外國人卻有時(shí)抱怨說(shuō),美國人對外部世界漠不關(guān)心,一無(wú)所知
Promote physical culture and build up the people's health .
發(fā)展體育運動(dòng),增強人民體質(zhì).
下句中before也沒(méi)有必要翻譯出來(lái)
Never get on or off the bus before it comes to a standstill
車(chē)未停穩,切勿上下
2) 冠詞的省略
英譯漢過(guò)程中,不定冠詞a, an除了表示"一"這個(gè)數量概念時(shí)需要譯出之外,其他情況下往往省略不譯
They are prepared to take the initiative , even when there is a risk in doing so .
他們做事會(huì )采取主動(dòng),即使這樣做要冒風(fēng)險,也在所不辭
He is an Englishman , and not an American .
他是英國人,不是美國人
They have a wide knowledge of everyday things , and a keen interest in their particular city and state.
他們對日常事情所知甚廣,對所在的城市和州深為關(guān)切
定冠詞the的省略見(jiàn)下例
Is the sole aim of most Americans to make money and possess luxuries which could be called excessive?
賺錢(qián)和擁有可以稱(chēng)得上過(guò)多的奢侈品,是不是大多數美國人的唯一的目標
The use of bacteriological weapons is a clear violation of international law.
使用細菌武器顯然是違反國際法的
The individual American is generous, but the American nation is hard.

3) 代詞的省略
當代詞做賓語(yǔ)時(shí),說(shuō)話(huà)人和聽(tīng)話(huà)人,或者讀者都知道指什么,漢譯時(shí)需要省略
If you like the books , you can take them with you .
如果你喜歡這些書(shū),就拿去吧
They pride themselves on their independence , their right to make up their own minds.
他們?yōu)槟塥毩⑿惺?為有權做出自己的決定而感到驕傲
4) 介詞的省略
*有些表示時(shí)間的介詞可以省略
When the Constitution was written in 1787, there were only 13 states.
1787年起草憲法時(shí),只有十三個(gè)州
*有些表示地點(diǎn)的介詞的省略
What scenic spots are there in Shanghai ?
上海有什么風(fēng)景區?
*有些與名詞到搭配的介詞可以省略
Their skyscrapers , bridges and dams often have a splendor which matches in beauty and scales the country's natural wonders.
他們的摩天大樓,橋梁和水壩往往氣勢壯觀(guān),與美國的自然奇觀(guān)之壯美和恢弘相得益彰
