電視臺部分欄目名稱(chēng)英譯初探

中央電視臺的欄目大大小小有200多個(gè)，其中不少欄目的名稱(chēng)大家都耳熟能詳。如何把這些欄目名稱(chēng)準確簡(jiǎn)潔地譯成英文成為不可回避的問(wèn)題。

　　欄目名和書(shū)名、文章標題一樣，是畫(huà)龍點(diǎn)睛之筆，其翻譯應遵循以下原則：1.能夠反映本欄目的中心內容，突出主題。2.譯名必須簡(jiǎn)潔，明白易懂，朗朗上口。3.不用句子結構，即主謂賓或主系表結構。4.不能望文生義。如《東方時(shí)空》譯為Oriental Horizon。horizon的意思是地平線(xiàn),即"向水平方向望去,天與地相交接的線(xiàn)"，以此作為欄目名意境深遠,給人想象的空間。如果譯為Eastern Time and Space，就失去其深邃的意義了。又如社會(huì )經(jīng)緯是中央電視臺最早的一個(gè)法制節目，目的是向觀(guān)眾普及法律知識，增強觀(guān)眾的法律意識，弘揚司法公正。"社會(huì )經(jīng)緯"字面上并沒(méi)有法律，如直譯成英文，會(huì )顯得莫名其妙。但如果譯成Net of Justice，就會(huì )使人由法律想到公正，由經(jīng)緯想到天網(wǎng)恢恢。再如《夕陽(yáng)紅》譯為Sunset Glow，比較貼切，又富有詩(shī)意。因為glow的意思"throw out light and heat without flame"(The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English,p.502)。下面，筆者把收集到的欄目名稱(chēng)英譯與大家分享：
