Teacher imposes harsh toilet rule for boys, sparking criticism

奇葩校規！學(xué)生課間上廁所需向老師請示

Boys at an elementary school in south China’s Guangzhou City were forced to apply first before going to the toilet even during breaks as a punishment for failing to follow a dress code, according to Guangzhou Daily.

據《廣州日報》報道，由于未能遵守著(zhù)裝規定，廣州一所小學(xué)的男生們被罰上廁所之前要先獲得老師的許可，即使是下課也是如此。

The rule has been enforced since Dec. 12 for a class of third graders in Shuiyinlu Elementary School in Guangdong Province. In the 10-minute break, children have been required by the head teacher Liu to sit on their seats and make an application if they want to answer the call of nature.

自從12月12日以來(lái)，這項規定就開(kāi)始在廣東水蔭路小學(xué)三年級某班實(shí)施了。在10分鐘的課間，孩子們被班主任劉老師要求坐在自己座位上，如果想要上廁所的話(huà)需要先獲得老師的許可。

Reports say Liu made the requirement after the class lost a collective honor because several boys forgot to wear red scarfs.

報告指出劉老師做出之所以做出這樣的要求，是因為班里幾個(gè)男生忘了戴紅領(lǐng)巾使得班級失去了一項集體榮譽(yù)。

The harsh requirement has led to discomfort among some pupils.

這項苛刻的規定給一些學(xué)生帶來(lái)了不適。

Parents said some boys now suffer from urinary problems. One child had to relieve himself in the classroom, bringing him shame and causing him to return home in tears.

據學(xué)生家長(cháng)表示說(shuō)，一些男孩現在患上了泌尿系統問(wèn)題。一個(gè)孩子憋不住了在教室里如廁，讓他覺(jué)得很恥辱、最終哭著(zhù)跑回了家。

Teacher Liu is strict with students, according to parents, ordering students as well as parents to make written apologies for poor performances in a subject.

據家長(cháng)們表示，劉老師對學(xué)生們很?chē)揽?，責令學(xué)生和其家長(cháng)為某一科目的不良表現寫(xiě)書(shū)面道歉。

Several parents once wrote a joint letter demanding another head teacher when the students were first graders, accusing her of lacking compassion and pursuing fame through improper means.

一年級的時(shí)候幾位家長(cháng)曾寫(xiě)聯(lián)名信要求換掉班主任，指責劉老師缺乏同情心、用不正當手段追求名利。

But the teacher said she has more than 20 years of teaching experience and parents have no right to decide whether her methods are good or bad.

但是這位老師說(shuō)她有20多年的教學(xué)經(jīng)驗，而家長(cháng)們無(wú)權決定她的方法是好是壞。

She refused to give an explaination when a reporter tried to reach her.

當記者試圖聯(lián)系她的時(shí)候，劉老師拒絕做出解釋。

Education authorities in Guangzhou’s Yuexiu District said they had started an investigation.
