有關(guān)原文翻譯的一些重要問(wèn)題
哦，外國的書(shū)總是處在出版與被出版之間。

恩，出版是指認認真真地翻成了中文，然后被挑錯。

被出版么，就是獲得了版權，但是翻出來(lái)的東西與原文完全是兩碼事。

我承認對這件事沒(méi)有直觀(guān)認識。因為我手中一沒(méi)有中英文對照的書(shū)，二沒(méi)有此小組提供的爛書(shū)，無(wú)法提供真實(shí)有效的證據。但我還是得說(shuō)，現在不敢讀譯文了。

這間接說(shuō)明了，如果不想莫名其妙的被‘被欺騙’，那么最好的辦法是學(xué)好英語(yǔ)日語(yǔ)法語(yǔ)德語(yǔ)以及什么什么語(yǔ)，并且最好保持的中文水平。

‘物競天擇，適者生存’

唉，這樣的翻譯，這樣的誤讀。也許有的時(shí)候，誤讀對CHIN_人才是最好的吧。好歹還留下了個(gè)念想。

（針對這件事、這些人，這個(gè)念想大概是：把讀本外國小說(shuō)當成讀本外國文化的，自戀感。）

最近看了幾頁(yè)譯林翻譯出版的Tolkien的《精靈寶鉆: 魔戒起源》，簡(jiǎn)直出離憤怒！

中國南京譯林出版社出版的《霍比特人》、《魔戒》、《精靈寶鉆: 魔戒起源》錯誤之多令人咋舌，而且該社對與民間Tolkien愛(ài)好者無(wú)私提供的建議多采用蒙混的辦法，態(tài)度令人憤怒！

譯林出版社雖然是中國一家知名出版社，但是在對待Tolkien教授的作品上極為不負責任。

首先是對書(shū)籍內容的損傷。在2002年出的的《魔戒》的簡(jiǎn)體中文第一版第一次印刷中，刪除了地圖，并對《附錄》中做了多處刪減，給讀者的理解造成障礙。在2004年出版的《精靈寶鉆》的簡(jiǎn)體中文第一版第一次印刷中再次刪除了所有地圖、家族樹(shù)等資料。

譯林選用的美工、譯者和校對人員明顯不合格，缺乏對作者和原作應有的尊重。其表現如下：

一，封面設計荒誕?！毒`寶鉆》簡(jiǎn)體中文譯本的精裝本和簡(jiǎn)裝本采用的都是與書(shū)籍內容幾乎無(wú)關(guān)的圖案（請參見(jiàn)右圖）；
二，翻譯者缺乏勝任該行業(yè)的基本素質(zhì)，屢屢出現字面理解錯誤，和大量漏譯；
三，翻譯者對Tolkien教授營(yíng)造的Arda世界缺乏基本了解，導致很多概念錯誤；
四，翻譯者間缺乏合作，校對者沒(méi)盡到責任。在翻譯《魔戒》采用“多人合譯”的方法，讓三個(gè)人分別翻譯三卷書(shū)，名詞得不到統一，同一頁(yè)中同一個(gè)名詞竟然會(huì )出現不同的翻譯方法，相似的名詞往往被搞錯，校對人員形同虛設。

這四點(diǎn)的后果是讓許多第一次接觸Tolkien教授著(zhù)作的讀者無(wú)法正確理解小說(shuō)內容，并大大減弱了他們對書(shū)籍的興趣。有位愛(ài)好者曾經(jīng)給《魔戒再現》,《王者無(wú)敵》做過(guò)勘誤表，兩卷書(shū)中翻譯錯誤至少也有800余處！而《精靈寶鉆》更加離譜，僅僅是書(shū)后的index就可以找出179處硬傷?。ㄈ坎皇怯捎谖幕驼Z(yǔ)言差異造成的?。毒`寶鉆》簡(jiǎn)體中文譯本中的譯者——該譯者翻譯的《霍比特人》同樣糟糕——擅自遺漏、添加、歪曲原作的現象令所有對故事有一定了解的讀者震驚，將一部悲壯的神話(huà)變成一個(gè)顛倒黑白的惡搞故事。對于一切熱愛(ài)Tolkie教授的作品的愛(ài)好者來(lái)說(shuō)，譯林出版的書(shū)中的世界才是個(gè)真正的“Arda Marred”，叫人傷心失望。

希望熱愛(ài)Tolkien作品的人聯(lián)合抵制這個(gè)版本。一個(gè)認真負責的版本才是讀者樂(lè )見(jiàn)，以后也可以拿來(lái)細細品味的書(shū)。

...and seen the face of the world sink below them, and so had come to the lamplit quays of Avalloe = “看見(jiàn)了海底世界的真面目，走上阿瓦洛內燈光照耀的碼頭”（原來(lái)Avalloe是在海底啊，怪不得需要燈光照耀。。。）

Gondolin“一派歌舞升平的大好景象”“歌舞升平”難道不是個(gè)貶義詞么……


But Ungoliant had grown great, and he less by the power that had gone out of him; and she rose against him, and her cloud closed about him, and she enmeshed him in a web of clinging thongs to strangle him.
可是Ungoliant已經(jīng)變得十分強大，Morgoth因為東奔西跑力量大不如前；她飛身躍起，輕揚兩臂，一團黑色的云霧把Melkor緊緊包裹起來(lái)……

蜘蛛Ungoliant居然能“飛身躍起，輕揚兩臂”？?。?！


But in that hour Finarfin forsook the march, and turned back, being filled with grief, and with bitterness against the House of Feanor, because of his kinship with Olwe of Alqualonde; ...
"因為他和阿爾夸棱德的Olwe有血緣關(guān)系…"

Finarfin娶了Olwe的女兒，岳丈和女婿有“血緣關(guān)系”？！


nor leave them to the rash counsels of Feanor.
更不想就這樣把他們交給生性魯莽的Feanor

“草率決定”就被人搞成“生性魯莽”。


We are threatened with many evils, and treason not least
我們被許多邪惡勢力所威脅，最主要的是背叛……

明明是“不單單是背叛”……


But even as the trumpet sang and Feanor issued from the gates of Tirion a messenger came at last from Manwe, saying: 'Against the folly of Feanor shall be set my counsel only. Go not forth! For the hour is evil, and your road leads to sorrow that ye do not foresee. No aid will the Valar lend you in this quest; but neither will they hinder you; for this ye shall know: as ye came hither freely, freely shall ye depart. But thou Feanor Finwe's son, by thine oath art exiled. The lies of Melkor thou shalt unlearn in bitterness. Vala he is, thou saist Then thou hast sworn in vain, for none of the Valar canst thou overcome now or ever within the halls of Ea, not though Eru whom thou namest had made thee thrice greater than thou art.'

But even as the trumpet sang and Feanor issued from the gates of Tirion a messenger came at last from Manwe, saying:……
……信使一路風(fēng)塵仆仆，趕到隊伍前頭，傳達Manwe大帝的旨意……

哪里有什么“風(fēng)塵仆仆，趕到隊伍前頭”……


No aid will the Valar lend you in this quest， but neither will they hinder you;for this ye shall know: as ye came hither freely, freely shall ye depart
那時(shí)，Valar將愛(ài)莫能助，但是我不會(huì )阻止你們。有一點(diǎn)，你們應該知道：Noldor精靈來(lái)去自由，我們絕無(wú)扣留之意?！?

不分“我”和“我們”，不分 shall和should……

But thou Feanor Finwe's son, by thine oath art exiled.
可是你，Finwe之子Feanor，不屬此列。你妄用神名，已是被放逐之人。

明明是“因為你的誓言而被放逐”


not though Eru whom thou namest had made thee thrice greater than thou art.
盡管你認為Iluvatar把你造成了一個(gè)比現在的你強大三倍的精靈之王……

不分Eru和Iluvatar,那個(gè)“你認為”，“精靈之王”哪里來(lái)的？？？


…… of the battle of Ecthelion of the Fountain with Gothmog Lord of Balrogs in the very square of the King, where each slew the other,
Ecthelion和火魔巴爾洛格打得難解難分，血肉橫飛，最后被對方殺死。

Ecthelion和Gothmog打的“血肉橫飛”……這是哪里出來(lái)的！還有“very square of the King”和“Gothmog”又翻譯到哪里去了？？？
同一個(gè)英雄Lord Ecthilion，在另一個(gè)故事里被翻譯莫名其妙翻譯成“家丁”，原書(shū)INDEX里說(shuō)他是：
Echtelion - Elf-lord of Gondolin, who in the sack of the city slew and was slain by Gothmog Lord of Balrogs.
明明就是說(shuō)Ec和Gothmog互相殺死了對方，譯林居然翻譯成：
Ecthelion ?？巳?岡多林的精靈王，城市陷落后，他曾大肆殺戮，最后被火魔巴爾洛格所殺。

“大肆殺戮”啞不知道哪里來(lái)的。同樣的lord，剛才是“家丁”現在就是“王”，Gondolin除了Turgon沒(méi)有有其他精靈王？？


再看這句Finrod的話(huà)　“我起誓，并將付諸實(shí)施，否則天誅地滅。我不會(huì )娶妻生子，繼承王位?！?
原文：...and he said: 'An oath I too shall swear, and must be free to fulfil it, and go into darkness. Nor shall anything of my realm endure that a son should inherit.'
哪里來(lái)的“天誅地滅”。


“第二天Turin從邊境回來(lái)千洞之殿……”
原文：On the next day Saeros waylaid Turin as he set out from Menegroth to return to to marches...
from和to這也能搞錯。


In that hour the voice of Feanor grew so great and so potent that even the herald of the Valar bowed before him as one full-answered,
as one full-answered被翻譯吃掉了


Much it foretold in dark words
他的預言大多是“黑話(huà)”……

（請允許我閃現一下，上一句實(shí)在是太惡搞了……‘黑話(huà)’？官話(huà)在哪里）

And Maedhros answered: 'But how shall our voices reach to Ilúvatar beyond the Circles of the World? And by Iluvatar we swore in our madness, and called the Everlasting Darkness upon us, if we kept not our word. Who shall release us?'
唯一神 Iluvatar居然被翻譯成“他老人家”，“called the Everlasting Darkness upon us”翻譯成“天打雷劈”……。

"Alas, for the weakness of the great! For a mighty king is Gil-galad, and wise in all lore is Master Elrond, and yet they will not aid me in my labours. Can it be that they do not desire to see other lands become as blissful as their own? But wherefore should Middle-earth remain for ever desolate and dark, whereas the Elves could make it as fair as Eress?a, nay even as Valinor? And since you have not returned thither, as you might, I perceive that you love this Middle-earth, as do I. Is it not then our task to labour together for its enrichment, and for the raising of all the Elven-kindreds that wander here untaught to the height of that power and knowledge which those have who are beyond the Sea?'

Sauron：“真是聰明一世糊涂一時(shí)！吉爾格拉德王雖然英明偉大，埃爾隆德大師雖然學(xué)識淵博，可他們竟然不愿意幫助我改天換地。依我看，他們是不想看到別的地方也像他們那兒那樣美麗、富庶，難道不是嗎？各位精靈兄弟本來(lái)可以把中洲大地建設得像埃雷賽阿，甚至像瓦里諾那么繁華，為什么非要讓它永遠荒涼，貧窮落后呢？你們本來(lái)也可以到那兒過(guò)衣食無(wú)憂(yōu)的日子，可是沒(méi)去。由此可見(jiàn)，諸位跟我一樣，都熱愛(ài)這塊土地，所以，我們應該團結起來(lái)，以建設中洲為己任，逐步提高一直在這里流浪的精靈的文化水平，讓他們像大海那邊的精靈一樣孔武有力，知識淵博?！?

臺灣版本，雖然不完美，但是意思差不多：
他念起巫師的咒語(yǔ)，
要刺透、敞開(kāi)、誘出背叛，
要揭發(fā)、暴露、泄漏秘密。
剎那間費拉剛隨之搖擺
吟誦定心之歌來(lái)回應，
堅持、奮力抵擋魔咒之力，
守住秘密，屹立不搖如塔，
信任未破，自由閃避；
改變情況，扭轉劣勢，
躲避圈套，破解陷阱，
囚牢敞開(kāi)，捆鎖斷裂。
他們的吟誦一來(lái)一回地較勁。
搖搖擺擺，拉拒對抗，力道越來(lái)越強
魔咒不斷增強，費拉剛全力反抗，
他運用所有精靈的力量與異能
注入他所念誦的詞語(yǔ)。
在迷蒙中，他們聽(tīng)見(jiàn)輕柔的鳥(niǎo)語(yǔ)
在遙遠的納國斯隆德吟啼，
更遠處有大海在嘆息，
海那一方的西方世界里，沙灘上
啊，珍珠沙灘上有精靈的家鄉。

費拉岡德以歌作答，
精靈智慧，又展宏圖。
守口如瓶，堅持戰斗，
沖出牢獄，爭取自由。
兩軍對壘，歌聲如潮，
你進(jìn)我退，此起彼伏。
夜幕低垂，黑暗如磐，
費拉岡德再現身手，
魔法奇術(shù)，玩于掌股。
惜哉，神兵千里，刀槍入庫，
惟有納戈斯隆德百鳥(niǎo)啁啾。
驚濤拍岸，白沙依舊，
精靈王國，又結新仇。（明明是回憶弒親之戰后Noldor搶劫Teleri精靈的船，哪里來(lái)的“又結新仇”）
瓦里諾鮮血橫流，
諾爾多濫殺無(wú)辜。
搶走白船，毀滅珍珠，（毀滅珍珠？?。?
孤帆遠影，滄海橫流。（Noldor強走了數條船，什么“孤”呀）
北風(fēng)呼嘯，狼號鬼哭。
烏鴉呱呱，匆匆逃走，（我也看得要匆匆逃走了）
?？谥?，嘎扎作響，
安戈班恩德，鏈鎖囚徒。
電閃雷鳴，大火沖天。
寶座塵封，光輝不再，（胡扯?。?
費拉岡德，一命嗚呼。（Finrod被翻譯殺死了……后面的故事里他又死了一次……）
