外賣(mài)小哥用英文發(fā)送餐短信走紅網(wǎng)絡(luò )

A food delivery courier in Sichuan recently became an internet sensation after it became known that he messages his customers in English.

最近四川一位外賣(mài)小哥因為用英文給客戶(hù)發(fā)信息而成為了網(wǎng)紅。

The courier, named Mao Shaomu, is just 18 years old. He came to Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) to be a courier at the beginning of March.

這名快遞員名叫毛召木，今年只有18歲。3月初，他來(lái)到四川外國語(yǔ)大學(xué)，成為了一名外賣(mài)送貨員。

Mao told Chongqing Morning Post that the English messages he sends to customers are a way for him to practice English, since he expects that SISU students can all speak English.

毛召木向《重慶晨報》透露，給客戶(hù)發(fā)英文信息是他練習英語(yǔ)的一種方式，因為他認為四川外國語(yǔ)大學(xué)的學(xué)生都會(huì )講英語(yǔ)。

Mao struggled in science classes beginning in his middle school years, but he always excelled in English.

從中學(xué)開(kāi)始，毛召木的理科成績(jì)就不好，但是他卻很擅長(cháng)英語(yǔ)。

Inspired by his English teacher, who earned a university spot through independent study, Mao chose to formally drop out of high school. Ever since, entering SISU has become a target for the young man.

受自己英語(yǔ)老師的啟發(fā)（這名英語(yǔ)老師通過(guò)自學(xué)取得了大學(xué)學(xué)位），毛召木選擇正式退學(xué)。自那以后，進(jìn)入四川外國語(yǔ)大學(xué)學(xué)習就成了這個(gè)年輕人的目標。

Each job Mao took after quitting high school was temporary because he always wanted to study English. Last September he took a part-time at a bar, hoping it would give him the chance to chat with foreigners.

高中退學(xué)之后，毛召木每一份工作都干得不長(cháng)，因為他總是想學(xué)英語(yǔ)。去年九月他在一家酒吧兼職，希望可以有機會(huì )和外國人交談。

At the beginning of March, he quit his job again and became a food delivery courier at SISU, all the while preparing for the college entrance exam, which will be held in the second half of this year.

今年三月初，他再次辭掉了工作，然后到四川外國語(yǔ)大學(xué)當起了外賣(mài)小哥，同時(shí)又為今年下半年舉行的高考做準備。

These days, midday is the busiest time for Mao, and he uses most afternoons to study English.

在這些日子里，白天是毛召木最忙的時(shí)候，而他則利用大部分下午的時(shí)間來(lái)學(xué)習英語(yǔ)。

He said his preference is to major in English or international communications. In addition, he hopes to go to Beijing to earn a master's degree and become an interpreter.

他表示，自己傾向于主修英語(yǔ)或國際交流專(zhuān)業(yè)。此外，他還希望到北京去讀碩士，然后成為一名翻譯。
