    無(wú)處不在的電子通訊設備似乎已經(jīng)讓我們具備了“不出門(mén)就聞天下事”的能力。不但如此，人與人之間交流方式也不再需要面對面了，短信、郵件、聊天工具等等都可以讓我們隨時(shí)找到對方。于是就有了現在越來(lái)越盛行的sofalizing（沙發(fā)社交）。

    Rather than going out to meet people in person, it seems that there's a growing tendency to sofalize – socialize with friends and family via electronic devices in the home.

    好像有越來(lái)越多的人選擇待在家里通過(guò)電子設備跟家人和朋友聯(lián)絡(luò )感情，即進(jìn)行“沙發(fā)社交”，而不愿走出家門(mén)跟他們面對面交流。

    Those of us who prefer to talk to our friends without having to step through the front door, in fact have a variety of ways of sofalizing at our disposal, including texting, e-mail, instant messenger, Skype, Twitter, live chat, status updates or wall posts on Facebook, and the communication networks associated with online gaming.

    那些選擇宅在家里跟朋友聯(lián)絡(luò )的人其實(shí)有很多隨手可用的聯(lián)絡(luò )方式，包括短信、電子郵件、即時(shí)訊息、Skype、Twitter、在線(xiàn)聊天、Facebook上的狀態(tài)和記錄更新，以及在線(xiàn)游戲網(wǎng)站附帶的通訊工具等。

    There may be many reasons why people are choosing to sofalize rather than socialize – convenience, laziness, time pressure, the expense of going out, or just a desire to avoid lengthy conversations.

    舍棄真實(shí)社交而選擇沙發(fā)社交的原因有很多，比如：便捷、懶惰、時(shí)間壓力、外出花費，也或者僅僅是為了避免冗長(cháng)的談話(huà)。

    The term sofalizing is, of course, a blend of the words sofa (=soft, comfortable seat) and socializing, where this describes the activity of spending time with other people socially – in other words, socializing whilst lounging around on a sofa.

    Sofalizing這個(gè)詞當然就是sofa（沙發(fā)，或者任何柔軟舒適的座椅）和socializing（社交）兩個(gè)詞組合而成的，socializing表示人們花時(shí)間在一起聯(lián)絡(luò )感情的行為，那么，sofalizing就是倚在沙發(fā)上跟別人聯(lián)絡(luò )感情。
