As 專(zhuān)題

1 動(dòng)詞+ as

用作介詞的as，常常與一些動(dòng)詞搭配使用，比如 define…as; view…as;

See…as ; regard…as; think of…as（把 看做）; refer to…as (把 稱(chēng)作)

Classify…as （把 化歸為）；use…as（把 用作）

2 as單獨使用，意思是 作為…， 當做…

作為一個(gè)軍人，要時(shí)刻準備戰斗。（army man； each time）

He must use this surplus in three ways: as seed for sowing, as an insurance against the unpredictable effects of bad weather and as a commodity which he must sell in order to replace old agricultural implements and obtain chemical fertilizers to feed the soil. 00

3．As做后置定語(yǔ)

As用在名詞后面，做后置定語(yǔ)，在意義上相當于所修飾名詞的同位語(yǔ)。

4 as做關(guān)系代詞，引導定語(yǔ)從句 （已講）

5. as做連詞，引導各種從句

1）引導時(shí)間從句

As industrial giants like General Motors and IBM struggle to survive by reducing the number of employees, Manpower, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is booming. 97

2）引導原因從句

3）引導方式從句

4）引導讓步從句

難點(diǎn)：

1 as much… as 不要翻譯成和…一樣多，它表示兩個(gè)事物之間程度的比較，表示“在同等程度上”

1) 痛苦和快樂(lè )同樣是生命的一部分。

Tears are as much a part of life as are smiles.

2) Small as it is , the ant is as much a creature as are all other animals on the earth. (它和地球上的任何其他動(dòng)物一樣，都是一種生命)

2 not so much as = not even 甚至不/沒(méi)有

3 not A so much as B / not so much A as B表示比較

1)基本含義為：“與其說(shuō)A倒不如說(shuō)B”，或“是B，而不是A”。但在實(shí)際句子中翻譯非常靈活。

2)A和B是兩個(gè)被比較的平行結構，如：同為介詞短語(yǔ)，動(dòng)詞不定式，名次短語(yǔ)或其他平行結構。

例子：They are not so much childish as they still miss their good old days

B The great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving. 人生的意義不在于你目前身在何處，而在于你心向何方。

Than 專(zhuān)題
1） more A than B 與其說(shuō)B不如說(shuō)A

He is more innocent than brave.(與其說(shuō)他單純，不如說(shuō)他勇敢)

2） more than…

A+數字 多于 we have known each other for more than a year.

B +名詞或動(dòng)詞 不只是

He is more than a father to her

C +形容詞，副詞或分詞 及其，非常

She was more than friendly to everyone.

3) No more --- than 表示比較

A No more --- than或not --- any more than “同---一樣不---”

B Than后面句子肯定形式，否定意思。

? A fool can no more see his own folly than he can see his ears.傻瓜看不到自己的愚蠢，就像他看不到自己的耳朵一樣。
