正確譯文： 　　


1) Some inhabitants suggest/suggested forbidding people to walk their dogs in this resident area. 　　

2) A few residents suggest/suggested prohibiting people from walking their dogs in their living quarters. 　　

3) Several dwellers suggest/suggested that people should be forbidden to walk their dogs in this residential area. 　　


4) Some residents suggest/suggested that people should be prohibited from walking their dogs in their living quarters.




5) A few inhabitants suggest/suggested that people should not be allowed to walk their dogs in this residential district. 　　

6) Several dwellers suggest/suggested that people should be disallowed to walk their dogs in their residential quarters.




上海翻譯公司：動(dòng)詞suggest 及其過(guò)去式suggested 后面只能跟動(dòng)名詞和that引導的賓語(yǔ)從句，而不能跟不定式。英語(yǔ)不存在suggest/suggested to do sth的句型。在that引導的從句中，要用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，由should表示，但是也可以省略should?！皫孜弧笨梢杂胊 few, some或several表示 ?！熬用瘛笨梢杂胕nhabitant, resident或dweller表示?！靶^”就是“居住小區”，可以用resident area, residential area, residential district, residential quarters 或living quarters表示?！敖埂钡氖┦抡邿o(wú)法準確說(shuō)出，最好用被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)?！板薰贰庇脀alk one' s dog表示。其施事者一般是狗的主人，即dog-owner。但是也不盡然，有時(shí)由保姆或別人來(lái)做這件事。其施事者用泛指的people比較好。

例如： 　　

1.醫生建議我立即戒煙。 　　

The doctor suggests/suggested that I (should) give up smoking Immediately/at once.

2. 這位代表建議修改交通法規。 　　

1) The representative suggests/suggested revising the traffic regulations. 　　

2) The representative suggests/suggested that the traffic regulations (should) be revised. 　　

3. 我建議你不要在這樣無(wú)意義的事情上浪費時(shí)間。 　　

I suggest/suggested that you should not waste/squander time on such meaningless things.
