Recently some female friends recommended a dating app to me. Tens of thousands of single men registered and uploaded their photos to the app. I was supposed to be excited about possibly ending my single life, but the fact was just the opposite.

最近一些女性朋友推薦了一個(gè)相親軟件給我。成千上萬(wàn)的單身男子在上面注冊，并上傳了照片上去。我也很興奮的期待著(zhù)它有可能結束我的單身生活，不過(guò)事實(shí)恰好相反。

I am a member of the "good-looks club." It is not that I judge and discriminate against people if they are not good-looking, but I do take people’s appearance as one of the most important elements of their characteristics and nature. Also, the club members think the first impression is very important, and the most effective way to get a first impression is through photos.

我是一名“外貌協(xié)會(huì )”會(huì )員，這倒不是說(shuō)我歧視那些長(cháng)得不好看的人，而是說(shuō)我將人們的外表當作他們性格的一個(gè)重要影響因素。因此，我們會(huì )認為第一印象是非常重要的。而獲得第一印象最有效的方式就是通過(guò)照片。

My mood changed quickly after I registered to use the app. I had hoped that I would find someone suitable to be my boyfriend, but I soon changed my mind. Most of the men registered were far too ugly for me.

The effect was terrible. Their faces were extremely large. If they smiled, it looked obscene, and if they didn’t, it looked silly.

第一，他們不知道如何打扮，也不會(huì )拍自拍。他們中許多人的自拍照里，臉部占了約90%，加上他們拍攝的角度很低，效果就很可怕了：他們的臉看起來(lái)非常大，如果笑呢，好像有些下流，如果不笑呢，又很傻逼。

Second, they do not know what appeals to girls. Some of them took photos in their cars on purpose to show off the type of car they drive. Others took photos with piles of cash or luxury watches. For any girl with relatively good taste, such behavior is tasteless and offensive.

第二，他們不知如何吸引女孩。有些人在車(chē)里拍照，似乎想炫耀他們開(kāi)的什么好車(chē)。有些人和大把的現金或者奢華的手表拍照。對于任何一個(gè)有品味的女孩來(lái)說(shuō)，這樣的行為都很乏味，甚至冒犯。

They also posted photos of other disgraceful behavior, such as photos of them with their hands on a female sculpture’s breast. Their happy facial expressions show that they do not regard their behavior as shameful.

有一些照片甚至帶有非?？蓯u的動(dòng)作，比如他們的手放在女性雕像的胸部。而從他們臉上開(kāi)心的表情可以看出他們竟不覺(jué)得自己的行為很丟臉。

Third, I tell from their photos that most of them do not lead a healthy lifestyle. Some of the men took photos in front of their computer or laptop, surrounded by many cigarette butts, leftover food and delivery boxes. Others made a "handsome" pose in their toilet, half naked and holding their breath to make their abdominal muscles more defined, but had a dirty urinal or face basin in the background. Dirty clothes and rubbish could also be seen all over the place in some of their photos.

第三，我從他們的照片中可以看出，他們中大部分人都過(guò)著(zhù)不健康的生活。一些人在電腦或者筆記本前拍照，周邊很多煙頭、剩飯和外賣(mài)盒。還有一些人在衛生間里半裸著(zhù)身體擺著(zhù)“英俊”的POSE,屏住呼吸以突出腹肌，但背景上的便池或者面盆卻臟的讓人不忍心看。還有一些照片中，臟衣服和垃圾也是隨處可見(jiàn)。

Every time I see a photo of an untidy man with disgraceful behavior in such an awful environment, I very much want to ask him whether he really thinks such photos can help him succeed in getting a date. Putting those kinds of photos online shows that they do not care about how they look, or worse, they do not know such images don’t show them in a positive light.

每次當我看到一張照片中的邋遢男子在一個(gè)這樣糟糕的環(huán)境里有著(zhù)如此不光彩的行為，我都很想去問(wèn)問(wèn)他，是否他真的認為這樣的照片能幫他成功的得到約會(huì )。將這樣的照片上傳到網(wǎng)上顯示出他們一點(diǎn)也不關(guān)心自己看起來(lái)是什么樣子的，或者更糟，他們不知道這樣的照片并不能顯示出他們積極陽(yáng)光的一面。
